No one who works here seems happy, don’t think I saw anyone smile or warmly welcome a single guest. This really affects the whole experience. The food was alright but portion sizes left room for improvement. The cutlery on the table was also dirty and had to be replaced. We were also told we couldn’t eat in the conservatory, despite another table already eating there, but as they pre booked it was fine? Makes no real sense. The management needs to look at serious improvements as this restaurant really lets the venue down and seems inflexible to guest requests.
Ate here on one of the evenings as my hotel room came with a 3 course dinner. I must say the food was absolutely beautiful! I had the ham hock terrine to start, followed by the steak and peppercorn sauce to follow and chocolate and cherry delice to finish. The only niggle was the gentleman that served me and my partner (he looked like a manager)… not personable or somewhat friendly. Asked how our food was and before we answered walked away! We were treated very differently to couple in the restaurant. There’s maybe more to it.. but nevermind. The food was superb - hats off to the chefs!
I stay at the Crowne Plaza quite frequently and one of the reasons is the excellent breakfast in the Glaze Restaurant. Bridget on breakfast reception and the manager and all the other staff make sure everything runs smoothly and the room is well presented. The food is prepared to a good standard and I've never been disappointed with my experience; no hesitation in recommending.

Stayed at this hotel for Valentine’s Day weekend with a package that came with the 4 course meal set menu. It’s a nice restaurant located inside the hotel. The food was nice and service was a bit slow as it got busy that evening. Has a nice bar next to the restaurant and also has a outdoor dining area. The starter was ok, but the main and the fresh oysters were tasty! Overall it was a good experience. Would recommend if you were staying at the hotel.
